Bird ID walk

Monday, 26 February, 2018 - 13:00

Join Lancashire Wildlife Trust for a Bird ID walk in Bury.

Taking place at Summerseat Nature Reserve this bird ID walk will be led by super birder Joe Taylor. It will start at 1pm and run until 3pm (ish).

The site is a former sewage works and as such can be quite a dangerous place to be without a guide. Due to this it has no open access so the bird walk is a wonderful way to see a site normally closed off. It can also be a little hard to find so please read the following closely!

Directions - Aim for Summerseat Garden Centre (BL9 5QD) and approach from the Greenmount side. Pass the Garden Centre and carry on towards the railway line. You will reach a set of temporary lights just before the bridge over the river. After this bridge but before you go under the railway, there is a trail that leads off to the left. This is a tight entrance which if you follow it down will lead to the gate. Open the gate and go through. Follow the trail all the way down and bear right and you should see us on your right by some shipping containers.
