Canopy: Manchester - Exhibition illustrated by Caroline May

Saturday, 20 May, 2017 - 11:00

An exhibition by Caroline May at Manchester Museum.

By Caroline May;

As a part of the Big Saturday: Plants and Us event at Manchester Museum, I have self-curated and produced an exhibition including a series of illustrations in celebration of the Tree Charter.

After attending a workshop last year I was given the opportunity to take part in, as well as assisting to curate and produce imagery for an exhibition alongside the Tree Charter and Lyrix Organix, in partnership with The Woodland Trust.

Prioritising the trees situated in the city, I have been illustrating scenes from parks around Manchester, focusing primarily on areas that showcase the contrast of trees with their natural surroundings with the urban environment in which they inhabit and celebrating them in relation how one compliments another.

On the Big Saturday at Manchester Museum I will amongst others running activties and exhibtions, all based around the subject of plants, for the Fasination of Plants Day. I will be exhibting a selection of illustrations whilst running a collage workshop.

Manchester Museum; Oxford Road,10am - 4pm.
