England's Community Forests Annual Conference 2019

Saturday, 30 March, 2019 - 09:30

In 2019 our annual conference focuses on how we deliver the 25 Year Plan for the Environment, new opportunities to fund community forestry and we will start to develop our priorities for the 2019 Spending Review.

England's Community Forests are within reach of more that 50% of the population. With local communities we have planted more than 16m new trees over the past 25 years. Millions of people use and enjoy the new and growing forests that have been created. They provide a wide range of benefits for people and wildlife, as well as setting the scene for growth and jobs.

We have great speakers and the workshop will undoubtedly be lively as usual. Places are limited so please book early. Tickets are available at £30 (plus fees £32.63) to cover refreshments and the cost of room hire.

Speakers include:

  • Sir Harry Studholme - Chair, FC
  • Sir William Worsley - Chair, National Forest and DEFRA Tree Champion
  • Laura Henderson - DEFRA - Providing insight about what the new grant programme for forestry may look like
  • Iain Taylor, Chair, Community Forest Trust - will look at the opportunities for innovative funding and developing the community forestry sector in England
  • Sandra Palmer - Independent Consultant - will once again lead the workshop and discussion

Full programme to follow in January.
