We’re launching a nature-themed photography competition on social media to create a 2020 calendar of your Greater Manchester snaps.
We’ve been feeling inspired by all of the amazing photographs you’ve been sharing of the Greater Manchester outdoors, so we thought we’d hold a competition to showcase and celebrate them.
We’ll pick a theme each month and announce it on our social channels – it might be ‘frost’ or something even more vague like ‘the colour orange’ – we want to keep it open to interpretation to give you the creative freedom to capture some amazing scenery. Each theme announcement will have some tips and ideas on what you might want to photograph, incase you find yourself struggling for ideas, and the competition is open to people of all ages. Feel free to submit photographs on other people’s behalf if they don’t have their own social media account – just make sure you’ve got their permission.
You’ll have a full month to respond to each theme and you can enter by simply uploading your photograph to either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tagging our City of Trees handle @cityoftreesmcr and using the hashtag #cityoftreesphoto. We’ll choose our favourite and announce the winner at the end of each month.
And that’s not all! We’ll be collating the winning photographs into a special calendar for 2020, and if you’re chosen as one of our monthly winners, you won’t just have your work featured; we’ll also send you a printed copy of the calendar.
Make sure you’re following all of our social channels and keep your eyes peeled for each month's theme.
