Josie Malloy

Business & Finance Manager

Josie has over 18 years’ experience in the environment sector providing finance and governance support for charities and non-profit organisations.

She gained a Batchelor of Science degree from Cardiff University and then after a couple of years work in Blackpool made a career change into finance and completed her professional Chartered Accountancy qualifications in 1986.

Josie joined the City of Trees team in January 2013 and oversees the finance and business management for City of Trees and Community Forest Trust. Josie is part of the management team and also assists in legal, IT and HR matters. She attends all Board meeting for the Trust and its associated companies and provides company secretarial duties.

She enjoys the outdoors, walking in the countryside or along beaches, usually with a dog. Her favourite tree is the Araucaria Araucana – more commonly known as the Monkey Puzzle tree. Brought up on the NE coast of Yorkshire these trees are dotted about but millions of years ago the whole area was a forest of these trees. The famous Whitby Jet jewellery is made from the fossilised wood from these trees.
