Witchy Woods: Poetry and Leaf Printing at The Whitworth

Get into the spooky spirit with City of Trees this Halloween! Join us for some nature exploration as we wander around Whitworth Park, collecting fallen leaves before getting creative with our leaf printing workshop. We’ll get inspired by Autumn’s colours and shapes for our botanical leaf printing followed by a poetry workshop run by Tom Branfoot.

Tom Branfoot is a poet and critic from Bradford, and the writer-in-residence at Manchester Cathedral. He won a Northern Writers’ Award for Poetry in 2024 and the New Poets Prize 2022. He organises the poetry reading series More Song in Bradford. Tom is the author of This Is Not an Epiphany (Smith|Doorstop) and boar (Broken Sleep Books), both published in 2023. All are welcome, regardless of experience in creative writing. An interest in nature and environment is preferable. Please bring writing implements and materials. More information to follow!

Any necessary tools and gloves will be provided but please bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity and weather. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Please contact Anna on anna@cityoftrees.org.uk with any questions.
