Citizen Forester Tree Planting, Higginshaw, Oldham

The Details

Join us Higginshaw Playing Fields in Oldham on Friday 14th March for tree planting and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!

We will be planting a combination of woodland copses and hedges on this site. This planting will help address the climate emergency whilst enhancing biodiversity and supporting local wildlife. On their journey to maturity, the trees will help reduce the impact of flooding on the site so that the fields can continue to be used.

All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for older children and adults – this is because of the nature of the work involved. If you are interested in bringing young children to this event please contact our team to see how you can be involved.
