Species Monitoring Project – Nocturnal Bat Survey (7/7)

What to expect:

Watch bats in action: Observe bats foraging and commuting in their natural habitat.

Learn how to use bat detectors: Listen to different bat calls using bat detectors.

Identify different species: Learn to identify different bat species based on call and flight patterns

Whether you are a beginner or wildlife enthusiast, this session will provide you with the opportunity to put your knowledge in to practice and gain hands-on survey experience.

Please note, this session is following up from a workshop hosted on the 25th of February to introduce bat ecology and survey methodology.

It is desirable that you would have attended this before conducting a survey. If you did not attend the workshop, please inform us and contact lizzie@cityoftrees.org.uk or jimena@cityoftrees.org.uk.

There is free on the road parking on the housing estate adjacent to Sunnybank Vale.
The nearest bus stop(s) are Chatsworth Road on Edge Lane (Stop ID: MANDAPGP) and St Martin’s Church on Greenside Lane (Stop ID: MANTMWMJ). The following bus routes stop there: 171, 172, 230, 231, 793 and 864. The nearest tram stop is Cemetery Road on the Blue Line.
