What to expect:

Put survey theory into practice and carry out visual searches of Willow Tit Habitat.

Learn how to conduct a Habitat Survey : Identify and assess suitable habitats for Willow Tits.

Survey and record bird species: Conduct a survey using the playback method to assess the presence/absence of the Willow Tit, whilst also noting any other bird species present.

Please note, this session is following up from a workshop hosted on the 19th of March to introduce Willow Tit ecology and survey methodology.

About the site

• Lees Brook Nature Park is in the heart of the Medlock Valley, with a combination of wooded valleys and meadows. The site is used for walking, cycling and horse-riding. The area where we will be surveying has a combination of formal and uneven ground trodden paths.
• Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
• Toilet facilities will not be available for this site.

Public Transport

• There is limited parking around this site, so please try to use public transport where possible. But if  necessary there is residential parking along Turner Street.
• The 861, 822, 836, 184 stop at Redwood Lane is a  4 minute walk from our meeting point.
• The closest tram stop is Oldham Mumps and is a 34 minute walk from our meeting point.
